Hint: Right click on files, folders and tool icons to get
a menu of actions you can perform with them.
Hint: Dragging files onto a tool's icon will launch it on those files.

The Uploader could not be started.

If you are using a browser that supports HTML5 (e.g., Firefox 18 or higher, Chrome 24 or higher), you can upload files to GenomeSpace by dragging them from your desktop and dropping them onto the folder icon () in GenomeSpace.

To continue with the java Applet uploader: Check to see if your browser is asking permission for the Uploader to run (usually at the top of the page) and grant permission to use the uploader.

If this is not shown, please restart your browser and try again. If the problem persists try a different browser (e.g. Firefox or Chrome) and check the user forum or contact the GenomeSpace Help Desk.

      Name:
      Enter the name, a brief description and the provider (typically an organization name such as 'Broad Institute'). The Base URL should be the page in the app you wish to have launched or the URL of a jnlp launch file for desktop applications. The Help URL is optional but recommended if you will be sharing this app with others. For details on preparing the tool see Adding a tool to GenomeSpace on the main GenomeSpace web site.

      Request a new format be added to the available formats list.
      File parameters (optional) are used to pass GenomeSpace file URLs to the tool when they are launched. If a File Parameter is named, this tool will show up in the list of tools. If not it will show in the list of Data Sources. The parameter name will be added to the Base URL (as in the example call). If multiple files can be passed the the tool at once, the Delimiter will separate the file URLs. File Formats (optional) indicate what formats the tool accepts but will not prevent other files being sent to the tool. Select as many as apply.
      Icon
      Provide a custom Icon for your tool to use in the tool bar. You can use gif, jpg, and png files. The icon will be scaled to 44x44 pixels on the toolbar and smaller in a few other dialogs.
      Share with groups:

      You may only share private tools with groups you are a member of. Users in the group will be able to see and launch the tool, but not edit or delete it. Click on the icon to create or edit user groups




      Upload files by dragging them from the desktop and dropping them on your account folder labeled   in the browser.

      Launch a tool on uploaded data by dragging the files from your account folder and dropping them on a tool icon. Or just click on a tool icon to launch the tool.

      Tools either launch in a new browser window or launch on your desktop. Some desktop tools require adjusting browser and Java security settings. Find out how in FAQ2.2.
